La Asociación Venezolana de Distribuidores de Equipos Médicos, Odontológicos, de Laboratorio y Afines (AVEDEM), es una  Asociación Civil sin fines de lucro, fundada en 1975 e integrada en la actualidad por 120 Empresas, dedicadas a la fabricación, distribución y servicio de equipos, mobiliario, material y productos para la salud en las ramas médico - hospitalaria, odontológica, de laboratorios y de productos o servicios afines.

AVEDEM es dirigida y administrada por el Presidente y una Junta Directiva, compuesta por doce (12) Directores que son elegidos en la Asamblea de la Asociación, por un período de dos (2) años.

En el seno de esta Junta Directiva se eligen tres Directores que acompañan al Presidente en su gestión: Vicepresidente, Secretario Ejecutivo y Tesorero. Este grupo ejecutivo, cuenta con un equipo de apoyo logístico que se encarga del soporte administrativo y secretarial de la Asociación.

La Junta Directiva,  designa además Comisiones de Trabajo para áreas o temas específicos de interés, coordinadas por sus miembros, en las cuales se invita a participar a los afiliados. Estas comisiones se encargan de las gestiones y trámites relativos a las áreas específicas de trabajo que les sean asignadas.
